Alternative MCMR Club Modular Layout
A modular layout, an alternative club layout was re-introduced to the club in 2009 to help promote MCMR and Model Railroading throughout our local communities. MCMR had not had a modular layout since before moving into the Albany Depot in the early 1990's.
The complete modular layout is constructed with 4 corner modules and then a varying number of 4' and 6' straight modules depending how large the intended layout display needs to be. Each module is 30" wide.
Typically one & two person teams worked on individual modules. MCMR's first opportunity to display our modular unit came at Holdingford's Summer Fest in July 2009. The display was set up in a large room in the Holdinford City Hall, the overall layout actually came together is just a few hours and was successfully operated for the better part of two straight days. It was a team effort, but everyone seem pleased, including a bunch of proud Model Railroaders, the event organizers and the public viewers.
The following are some of the scenes from a few of our current modules. Enjoy!
