Become an MCMR Member
MCMR - Where Childhood Dreams Come True!
Download the MCMR Application Document (link at the top & bottom of this page) and give it to a current member or send it to our MCMR club secretary (link below).
MCMR offers three common ways to become a member:
MCMR provides introductory model railroading programs for Youth Members (12-15) and Junior Members (16-20), and an "Apprentice Membership" classification for potential new adult members (21+).
Youth & Junior Members can actively participate in MCMR Club activities when sponsored and supervised by a Senior Club Member. The Apprentice Member positions are for new adult members while they are getting to know (and be known by) the club.
The Club's Board of Directors accepts applicants for MCMR Membership.
Please contact our Club Secretary for more information about membership or to obtain an application.
Click on the following link to find out more information about being a member or to submit an application: MCMR Contact Page
Youth, Junior and Apprentice members are not eligible to vote in MCMR Business Meetings and will not be issued a club building key.
Adult (21+) applicants will become an Apprentice Member for a minimum of nine months. After that time, the voting membership as a whole will vote whether or not the Apprentice Member will become a full Senior Member.
Anytime someone visits the club, we ask that person to sign-in on our attendance log sheet. All members sign-in on this sheet. The first time you visit the club building, ask someone to explain how it works.
Club policy requires that a Senior Member be present when an Apprentice, Junior or Youth member is in the building. We ask that you respect this policy. Only Senior and Life Members are issued keys to the club building.
Specific Apprentice Member Responsibilities:
Each Apprentice is expected to work with the Senior or Life Members to learn about the club organization, layout construction, track maintenance, scenery creation and repair, and club membership in general. These members will vote on each individual Apprentice for elevation to "Senior" Membership status after nine months with the Club.
Apprentices are also expected to list the net hours worked while at the club (or when working on an authorized project at home) when they sign in.
Apprentices are expected to attend as many Wednesday or Thursday work nights as possible during their apprenticeship period so they can get to know the club's members.
Download the following application and bring it to our Modular Location in Waite Park any Thursday evening or click on the following link if interested:
