MCMR Members
Crossing @ 'Big Lake'
Just like the picture here, MCMR could be lonely without members. We're always looking for new members heading down our tracks.
This may be "your" opportunity to change that if you have an interest in model railroading.

Secretary: Tim Kummet
2013 Secretary - Tim Kummet
As our perpetual incumbent Secretary, Tim does an incredible job with all of the on-going MCMR paperwork for the Club including "Member" lists, meeting minutes, and on-going correspondence.
Tim is the current longest "continuous active member" (becoming a Senior Member and staying active with the Club since 1986).
Tim is also our wiring and technical GURU! He has digitized and computerized our operational layout, keeps finding new things to enhance performance and continually strives to make our individual model railroading experiences more life-like (just like the big boys do).
Tim consistently develops incredible switch lists to create fun and challenging operating run sessions for the Club. Tim primarily models "BN" diesels.

Mike Illies - Senior Member since 2012
Vice President Mike Illies
Past Vice President
Modeling Specialties: Scenery, ballasting track, helping with layout repairs and expanding his current personal collection of RR cars.
Modeling Interest: Mike wants to learn how to do a "BIG" layout that he can create at home.
Favorite Modeling Railway (Road/Flag): Diesel with freight consists (per Mike: "not interested in Steam yet"). Currently enjoys running Chicago & Northwestern, Canadian Pacific and Milwaukee Road.
Favorite Part of being in the Club: Learning from others, having fun with the guys and enjoying the open communication between the MCMR members.
Personal Train History: Mike got the bug for trains early on because his family lived near the tracks on 8th Street in St. Cloud while he was growing up. Mike enjoyed hearing the train whistles day and night (...and still does). Every Easter Vigil was also a special night for trains in Mike's home because that was Dad's night each year to celebrate Easter by bringing out the "steam" engine and running trains. Hmmm - "Rising" to the occasion!

Russ Voight - Reactivated MCMR Membership in 3/2010
Current Senior Member as of 9/2012
Senior Member Russ Voight
Modeling Specialties: Building structures, bridges and scaled lumber loads.
Favorite Modeling Railway (Road/Flag): Wisconsin Central, The SOO Line and the D.M. & I.R. Prefers multi-axle heavy hall cars and taconite ore cars.
Favorite Engines: D.M & I.R. Yellowstone and the UP Big Boy
Train Interest: Always fascinated by the ore docks and train yard in Duluth. Being a history buff, made it easy for Russ to get hooked on trains all over our country.
Train Story: Trains saved Russ from a ticket - It seemed like a policeman kept following him so Russ pulled off the road into a parking lot right next to the tracks. He was just standing by his car when the policeman came back around to check him out. When asked what he was doing, Russ just told him he was a model railroader and he was waiting for the CP (Canadian Pacific) to be coming along. The policeman didn't believe him, and was about to take out his pad when the CP actually did come through - at least that's how Russ tells the story!
Favorite part of MCMR: Have fun with my train club buddies!
